American General, Universal Life
American General Life Companies has released AG Secure Lifetime Guar-
anteed Universal Life, a product designed for clients who need a guaranteed,
Ideal for older clients, policies can be issued to age 80, and coverage guar-
antees can be tailored to specific clients and needs to as long as age 121. The
product has guaranteed level premiums and cash value accumulation. Partial
withdrawals allow clients to access cash accumulation values when needed.
“We developed AG Secure Lifetime GUL to meet the need in today’s market
for a competitively priced life insurance product that offers security through
guaranteed cash buildup,” said Tim Heslin, American General vice president
and product line business leader. “Guaranteed access creates future flexibility
and choice as needs change. It’s more affordable than whole life and, like tradi-
tional UL, provides access to cash that can come in handy during retirement or
emergencies later in life. Unlike typical guaranteed UL policies available today,
the cash and access to it are guaranteed.”
Agent compensation for the product has been structured aggressively, according
to Heslin, and the application process is designed to be consumer friendly and to
preserve guarantees in the event of late premium payments. American General
also offers its eStation, a web-based business resource center featuring sales tools
and technologies to help expedite the application and underwriting process.

MedAmerica, Long-Term Care
MedAmerica has launched FlexCare, a long-term care insurance (LTCI)
product now available in three states.
FlexCare is a traditional reimbursement policy with an optional monthly cash
benefit. MedAmerica has previously specialized in cash-benefit products, which
pay a specified daily amount, regardless of actual expenses. Reimbursement
coverage pays for long-term care expenses actually incurred, up to a designated
monetary limit.
FlexCare will be sold exclusively through AIMS Benefits Solutions, a marketing services administrator based in Montgomery, Ala., that sells LTCI through
independent managing general agents and marketing organizations.
For more information, contact AIMS at (800) 325-9876 or info@aimsltc.com.

Pacific Life has introduced Pacific Destinations B, a new variable annuity
sold through Edward Jones Financial Advisors.
Designed for long-term retirement needs, Pacific Destinations B pays clients
a persistency credit — an additional amount added to the contract value every
year. On the eighth contract anniversary, clients will receive an annual credit
of 0.55% of the contract value on each contract anniversary before the annuity
date. Clients can also diversify with four asset allocation categories. And they
can choose to add Automatic Income Builder, an optional withdrawal benefit,
for an additional cost.
Pacific Destinations B expands Edward Jones’ Pacific Life product lineup,
which includes fixed and variable annuities, mutual funds and life insurance.
